So here I am on the BART train, typing this blog entry into my smart phone and I am wondering how did I ever get by without one for so long. I had resisted getting one until a couple of months ago, when we needed new phones.

I had been afraid that it would be more of a milestone tying me down, rather than liberating me. I have witnessed people who were totally obsessed with constantly checking their phone, even doing it several times while having a conversation with you. I did not want that to be me. I didn’t even want to be that person that is checking FaceBook, while on the train.

I’ve resisted for a while, but I have now been officially assimilated into the collective of smart phone users. I use this phone for just about everything now. I don’t even go across the room to use the desktop computer anymore to search on the internet. I just pull out my phone and I am instantly on the web. Commute time is now the time to catch up on the news, stream music, post pictures, comment on friends comments, write blog entries, etc. You will be next. Resistance is futile.
