Many have compared the brain to a computer running software. In the last couple of years I have come to see that this is much more a reality than I had once thought. As computers our brains are not perfect; they get old and breakdown, causing the software to behave erratic. However, the software is very sophisticated and it has the ability to reprogram itself. This is called neuroplasticity and is a very fascinating subject. Even though it describes how we can use mental force to pave new paths between neurons in the brain to change behavior patterns, even OCD, it also demonstrates that how the brain is wired dictates behavior.

Stating that my behavior is the result of how my brain is wired is in no way intended to be a excuse or a cop-out for my shortcomings. I acknowledge my shortcomings and also the fact that I could rewire my brain to change these shortcomings, if I had the sufficient desire and determination to do so.

So “Me 4.x” is about the results of the software version, 4.8 to be exact, that is currently executing on my brain.
